PRASAD Project is the global umbrella organization for
a network of national PRASAD entities which operate health
and development programs in India, Mexico and the United
States of America. The PRASAD Project's global headquarters
are located in upstate New York, and there are additional
incorporated PRASAD entities in Australia, France, Italy,
and Spain.
In 1992, The PRASAD Project was incorporated
in the United States as an international not-for-profit
organization in order to make PRASAD's work available
to communities around the world. The headquarters' administrative
and managerial staff raise funds, produce communication
materials, organize events to support and promote PRASAD
worldwide, and maintain global cohesion.

PRASAD's humanitarian work began in India's Tansa Valley,
and initial projects included distributing food, blankets
and clothing to families in need, as well as building
homes. Over the years, the programs evolved to include
medical, community development, nutrition, and education
programs. In 1994, PRASAD formally established the Prasad
Chikitsa Charitable Trust, to continue to expand and
create high-quality programs for people in the Tansa
region. Currently, the Prasad Chikitsa office, located
in Ganeshpuri, India, houses the management and administrative
