PRASAD’s
newest DVD, “Building a Sustainable Future”,
hosted by PRASAD spokesperson Phylicia Rashad, gives
an overview of PRASAD’s global work. This beautiful
12 minute DVD video was produced with the support of
skilled volunteers, and is now available by joining
our 2006 DVD appeal.
This year PRASAD is particularly
focused on meeting the growing and significant challenges
that HIV presents in the Tansa Valley, India. This is
a reflection of the epidemic situation in India at large
- by the year 2010 India expects to have more than 25,000,000
people infected by the HIV virus. PRASAD began its HIV
initiative program in 2004, which has developed rapidly
to meet this growing threat. To date PRASAD has educated
more than 10,000 people about HIV and AIDS, with hundreds
of people and children with AIDS receiving medical care
and more recently anti-retroviral medication.
