This May marks the 47th consecutive year the League
of American Bicyclists has declared May to be National
Bike Month. The League is promoting Bike-to-Work
Week from May 12-16 and Bike-to-Work Day on Friday,
May 16.
Bicycling is one of the most popular activities in the
United States, and National Bike Month provides
an opportunity for friends of bicycling to participate
in educational programs, bicycle commuting events, trail
work days and bicycle helmet promotions to draw positive
attention to bicycling.
This is also the perfect month to sign up for PRASAD's
Tour de Smile and get cranking on your training regimen.
(Training
tips are available on PRASAD's Tour de Smile website.)
Even if you cannot ride one of the legs along the route,
you can still ride in a Pedal
Partner ride in your local area. May is also the
prime season to host a softball game or picnic Event
Worth Smiling About. Or check out our exciting sponsorship
opportunities.
Safe trails and happy riding!

On March 6, PRASAD Children's Dental Health Program
was honored to be hosted by the San Jose Sharks at their
hockey arena in California. At this evening event, all
of the organizations to which the Sharks generously
contribute were invited to gather in a beautiful private
suite. PRASAD CDHP's National Director, Dyan Campbell,
attended the event. She thoroughly enjoyed meeting people
from the other organizations that provide health care,
educational, and art and cultural services to the San
Jose community. She laughed, "It was fun to be
part of the fans, with the crowd all doing the ' Sharkey
Chomp' when they wanted to inspire the team." The
Sharks' administrative staff socialized with the members
of the organizations, and distributed the much appreciated
donations.
