The
mission of The PRASAD Project is to enhance opportunities
for self-reliance for those in need. Since 2001, Prasad
Chikitsa has been developing an exciting Community Education
and Development program in India's Tansa region. Prasad
Chikitsa is working with local communities to assess their
needs and to create and implement sustainable projects
that improve their quality of life.
There are currently three main initiatives
in the program: Self-Help
Groups (agriculture, skills training and micro-banking
groups), Education
(Scholarship program and Kalakendra Arts and Crafts
programs), and the Water
Project. These programs enable participants to increase
their income, learn new skills, protect their water
sources and develop greater self-confidence.
